The last few months, I have been working behind the scenes being pushed by a nutrition business course I am enrolled in. Since graduating the NTA almost 4 years ago, I have felt scattered and not sure where to land. I knew nutrition was my passion, but that umbrella is so big that it was easy for me to get lost.
Since coming across fasting and achieving results such as weight loss, better cognition, more energy and overall sense of my body being detoxed, something just clicked. I knew that I finally found my calling as a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner and what I wanted to hone my vast umbrella of knowledge into. My niche now has been transferred from a scattered array of topics into blood sugar, diabetes and weight loss.
I have tried every “diet” known to shed the vanity weight of 15 or so pounds. I have taught sugar detox classes and followed along. Yes, I shed some inflammatory weight, but the last little bit has always maintained a stronghold. It just wouldn’t budge. I won’t go into what “diets” I have tried, as I think that word is filthy anyway. The food we consume is diet. What I wanted as an outcome as almost failure. I got enrolled in the NTA for selfish reasons at first. I knew there was something “wrong” with me metabolically, so I chased that rabbit down many holes for many years. Diet after diet. What a waste of mental clarity.
Fasting might not work for everyone. And that’s okay. I have never preached that anything or anyone “diet” will work for you. But I found something that worked for me and I want to share my passion with those who have struggled. I can relate. It’s worth a shot. It’s not easy, but it is simple. Food is so easy to gravitate to after a long day. It’s so easy to habitually eat at a certain time because that’s what we have done for our whole life. This is was the struggle for me at first. I had to ask myself what my goals were repeatedly. “It’s okay to be hungry,” I would tell myself. “I have plenty of fat stores as food for energy.”
Follow more of my story and stay tuned for upcoming fasting classes. I will discuss in detail at the cellular level why this works for many people when everything else hasn’t.
